Day 13: Finishing Kyoto and travel to South Korea
Day 13:
久しぶりの日本、素晴らしい日でした!
Waking up on our last day in Japan, what an incredible couple weeks it has been. I’m calling today a travel day as we need to get on the train for 1 hour 45 minutes, to get to Osaka Kansai International 2 hours before boarding. We’re scheduled to leave for South Korea at 615pm.We also have to start figuring out our luggage situation. We have way too much stuff we’ve purchased (thanks Tokyo Disney ). Looks like we’ll be buying another suitcase in Seoul. We have a large box along with 2 extra large suitcases we have been shipping forward. This is the greatest service ever invented. So what do we do to kill time? I head over to Nishiki market to do more shopping and Dan goes and gets a massage. Why not, when in Rom…Kyoto. Not really much else. Osaka’s airport is in the middle of the bay, on a manmade island. The train took us directly to terminal 1. It’s a massive brand new airport, but, to be honest, seems to lack some of the charm of Chiangi in Singapore or SFO back home.
It’s very sterile if that makes sense. Landing at Seoul Incheon, it’s about 40 miles outside of the city, and is the country’s main point of entry. Seoul also has Uber, and it’s super cheap. We jumped in and got dropped off at our hotel doorstep. Both of us were hungry, so I took a stroll around the neighborhood, without realizing we were in the heart of the Myeongdong district.
The city was alive, with all the people out, shops open and food to be eaten. Let’s do this Seoul!Final step count was 14,108 and 6.5 miles.#nishikimarket#kyoto#japan #myeongdong#seoul#southkorea #Asia2025
